Back to Labyrith

Me pidieron hace poquito que tradujera el cuento de Bowie al inglés, así que aquí está :)

I apologize for posible mistranslation. Soundtrack's at the bottom.

Back to Labyrith

Since the day she decided to come back, Sarah kept looking at the horizon for years, from the highest tower of Goblin Castle.

The yellow dawns at Labyrith became opaque, and the creatures of the Kingdom started losing their magic, and even their will, but not for nothing. After the marvelous wedding, with masquerades and their magic song, Jareth was called by Sandman himself for a mission in an unknown place for him, but so well known for the new Goblin Queen: the magic-less land of humans.

And with Jareth, the magic also disappeared from Goblin Kingdom.

Hoggle the Gnome was knighted as Sarah's Champion, so he could take care of her and be a guide in her royal duties, 'til Jareth's return. But even if he succeeded in his purpose, Hoggle couldn't help but looking at Sarah without feeling worried.

-Do you think he'll be back?-he asked with his raspy voice, playing with the jewelry on his clothes.
-I don't think so. I know he'll be back.
-I don't know... it has been so long, Sarah.
-It took me a long time to be back, remember?-she said-Did you ever give up on me? or him?

Hoggle sighed, Sara was right after all.

-None of us- he said-although Ludo got so unbearable...

Sarah smiled, while the hairy giant was playing with the stones he used to call on the Living Garden.

A fanfare was heard all over the castle, and a few minutes later, Sir Ddymus was at the door, gasping and half dead tyred.

-Milady... you need to come...

Riding on Ludo's shoulders, and accompanied by all the Goblins in their finery, Sarah went all the way back trough the Labyrith, for the first time in years. Nobody dared to stay on her way, and the ones that could opened doors and passages where there was none. The Queen's heart was beating so hard, while the sunset got its golden color back, and the air filled with the old silver spark.

Finally, there was a point where Ludo couldn't pass anymore. Sarah let herself drop and kept going til Labyrith's Gate, holding her heavy and luxuryous dress while she was running as if there were no tomorrow; closely followed by Hoggle and Didymus, always riding his loyal dog Ambrosius.

-Open the Gates!-yelled the little knight-Open the Gates in the name of the Queen!
-Sarah!-gasped the gnome, droping his heavy jewelry while he was trying to reach her-for the Dwarves' sake... Sarah! Wait for me!!!

But all she could hear was the beating of her own heart, finally feeling complete. The Gates opened once she arrived.

There he was. The Prince of Stories himself, with a robe made of the Night, shiny black eyes and a crooked smile that unnerved her for a moment.

-You've been waiting for so long, Goblin Queen.

Sarah settled her skirt without saying a word. Sandman's presence was very intimidating, even when he smiled. Finally, she asked:

-¿Have you seen him? How is Jareth? When he come back?

Sandman smiled even more. This time, a kind and -somehow- human smile. On his robe, at the heart's hight, a falling star passed by.

-He has done unbelievable things with human spirit. Things I've never been able, and couldn't do without his help. He created the most amazing magic, and brought hope where there was none. But I know he also took away the magic in here. And I don't think he could efford one more day without you.

And then, Morpheus departed, so the Goblin King could get back home.

All night long, joy and enchantment got back to the Kingdom. Jareth brought new songs, songs that inmediately taught to his subjects. The Magic Dance was -well- danced for the first time in years, even Dream, who was also invited, wanted to dance.

At the end, at the 13th hour, Jareth took his jubilant wife, while the tender chords of the waltz filled the air. They looked each other to the eye, finally feeling complete.

-I promised you-Jareth whispered, while Sarah shivered in his arms.-I'll be there for you... as the world falls down.

And while they danced, the morning was painted in gold.
